Now one thing that really motivates most people to really make a change in their lifestyles is a heart attack. Often enough, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart disease are a big thing granted. But they don’t really make that big impact. A heart attack, triple bypass, stuff like that however, even a stroke, is a big thing for most people. They can happen to those who are not obese, but they are much more prevalent in those who happen to be. This being said, my neighbor was not really fat, but he had a gut, which puts you at higher risk because the fat is frankly surrounding those vital organs and otherwise.
So when he had a heart attack, he didn’t follow the South Beach Diet or any other low carb diet that could actually include foods that wouldn’t help your heart and would be a short distance to a shallow grave. But he used one largely based on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. He ended up losing about 50 pounds, mostly from the belly area which is where he really had it to lose. But this is all something to consider. Hopefully you never get to this point of desperate measures. However, when you do, you really have to consult with your doctor to find the best approach that will specifically address the heart.
