Frankly speaking, we all love the holidays. The holidays are an excuse and a time to eat more junk food, to eat more candy, to get fat and then feel guilty later and go on the after holidays diet, which usually hits around the time of New Years and our New Years resolutions in general terms. Now as far as Halloween goes, you really can’t promote healthier habits in other people’s kids. They have all sorts of warnings out against accepting apples for example because of all the needles and things some sickos are sticking in there. That being said, they only really accept things that are in tight packaging for a reason.
This being said, you may not be the most popular house on the block. But you can try things such as little boxes of raisins or really any other dried fruits. Likewise, you can try little bags of pretzels, veggie chips, or microwave popcorn for that matter. Graham crackers and lower calorie cookies can be quite helpful for many people, and there are quite a few different foods that you can give to trick or treaters or for that matter eat yourself that really keep the calories down. Frankly, most parents will limit their kids consumption of the candy after if only to avoid sugared up hyper kids. But at the same point in time, it doesn’t hurt anything to contribute better things to the cause.
